Paramount Announces ‘Transformers One’ With Chris Hemsworth & More Stars

The Transformers are back in full force!


Paramount Animation announced that the upcoming Transformers movie, currently in production, will be titled Transformers One. The animated movie will focus on the origin story of the iconic robots in disguise, set in a secret world on their home planet of Cybertron. The movie is scheduled to be released on July 19, 2024.

Transformers One boasts an all-star voice cast led by Chris Hemsworth, best known for his role as Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hemsworth will voice the young Optimus Prime, while Brian Tyree Henry, who recently starred in Sony’s Bullet Train, will voice the young Megatron. Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Jon Hamm, and Laurence Fishburne round out the cast.

The list of Transformers includes Elita voiced by Scarlett Johansson, Bumblebee voiced by Keegan-Michael Key, Sentinel Prime voiced by Jon Hamm and Alpha Trion voiced by Laurence Fishburne. The voice cast features an impressive group of Hollywood heavyweights that Paramount managed to keep under wraps before its CinemaCon presentation.

Oscar-winning filmmaker Josh Cooley is directing Transfomers One. Best known for his work on Toy Story 4, Cooley is known for his expertise in crafting heartwarming stories that appeal to audiences of all ages. The script for Transformers One was written by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari, based on the Hasbro action figures.

The story of Transformers One

Transformers One takes place before the events on Earth, exploring the relationships between the robots on their home planet. The story centers on the transformation of young Optimus Prime and young Megatron from brothers-in-arms to sworn enemies. The stakes are high, as the fate of Cybertron hangs in the balance.

“I’m so excited and proud to be working with Hasbro and eOne to bring the first animated Transformers movie in almost 40 years to theaters for a never-before-told story,” said Ramsey Naito, president of Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation.
