Last month, Patrick Stewart announced that Jean-Luc Picard was back for an all-new Star Trek series on the CBS All Access streaming platform, the same platform that currently hosts Star Trek: Discovery. There hasn’t been much news since then, but then earlier today, Picard himself posted the first photo of production work on the Picard series.
On his Twitter today, Patrick Stewart posted a photo on his Twitter page of himself, Kirsten Beyer, Michael Chabon, Akiva Goldsman, Diandra Pendleton-Thompson, and James Duff- all key players in work on various programs and films within the Star Trek universe. Accompanying the photo is the following message: “The journey has begun. Kirsten Beyer, Michael Chabon, Akiva Goldsman, Diandra Pendleton-Thompson, James Duff, and yours truly. #StarTrek”
Here, have a look at Patrick Stewart showing the first photo from work on the Star Trek Picard series with the rest of the aforementioned Star Trek players in the tweet below:

Plot details are scarce for the Picard series- no doubt, since it’s still in early stages- but given that this will further expand upon the character of Picard, given what he’s been through in both Star Trek: The Next Generation and the Next Generation films themselves, what direction would you like to see this new series take Picard?
And would you want to see any characters from either The Next Generation or other Star Trek series’ potentially appear here? And more than that, do you have any concerns or expectations for the upcoming return of Patrick Stewart to the world of Star Trek? Given that this is on CBS All Access, should there be any connection between this series and Discovery? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned for more updates on the Jean-Luc Picard Star Trek series.
