Peacemaker gets absolutely roasted in this brand new clip from HBO Max’s first DCEU series.
Ahead of Peacemaker‘s panel at DC FanDome, HBO Max has debuted the first clip from James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad spin-off series. Starring John Cena’s patriotic hero, the series is set to focus on the character’s origins, as well as his subsequent missions following his deadly stint at Corto Maltese.
In the DCEU clip, we learn that Amanda Waller’s aides are burdened/tasked with handling Peacemaker on his missions for Waller. The aides are seated at a diner until they see John Cena’s Peacemaker is seen pulling up in an old-school muscle car that’s fully decked out in star-spangled glory. Out of the car, we realize that the character is wearing his “uniform”, which he subsequently gets roasted for when he enters the diner. Oh, and he also has a pet eagle who he’s aptly named “Eagley’.
Peacemaker will debut on HBO Max next January. All episodes from the series are written by James Gunn, with him stepping into the director’s chair for at least 5 of the 8 episodes. Fans can expect a full-fledged trailer for the DCEU series at this month’s DC FanDome, which should be packed with clips and teases for various properties, including The Batman, The Flash, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.
Here’s the official synopsis for The Suicide Squad:
Welcome to hell—a.k.a. Belle Reve, the prison with the highest mortality rate in the US of A. Where the worst Super-Villains are kept and where they will do anything to get out—even join the super-secret, super-shady Task Force X. Today’s do-or-die assignment? Assemble a collection of cons, including Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Captain Boomerang, Ratcatcher 2, Savant, King Shark, Blackguard, Javelin and everyone’s favorite psycho, Harley Quinn. Then arm them heavily and drop them (literally) on the remote, enemy-infused island of Corto Maltese. Trekking through a jungle teeming with militant adversaries and guerrilla forces at every turn, the Squad is on a search-and-destroy mission, with only Colonel Rick Flag on the ground to make them behave…and Amanda Waller’s government techies in their ears, tracking their every movement. And as always, one wrong move and they’re dead (whether at the hands of their opponents, a teammate, or Waller herself). If anyone’s laying down bets, the smart money is against them—all of them.
Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad stars Margot Robbie, Idris Elba, John Cena, Joel Kinnaman, Sylvester Stallone, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Peter Capaldi, David Dastmalchian, Daniela Melchior, Michael Rooker, Pete Davidson, Nathan Fillion, Sean Gunn, Flula Borg, Mayling Ng, Tinashe Kajese, Steve Agee, Jennifer Holland, Alice Braga, Juan Diego Botto, Joaquin Cosio, Storm Reid, and Taika Waititi.
The Suicide Squad is currently playing in theaters, while Peacemaker will hit HBO Max in January. Stay tuned for the latest news Peacemaker and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more content!
