The Peacemaker Twitter account used Marvel Studios’ What If…? hashtag to roast Captain America.
The first episode of What If…? premiered yesterday, making it Marvel Studios’ first animated project. The series imagines hypothetical scenarios, story arcs and character changes within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Yesterday’s episode asked what would happen if Peggy Carter received the super-soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers? Well, to celebrate the start of the show, the Peacemaker Twitter account began to sarcastically use the What If…? hashtag and even fired shots at Captain America.
In case you haven’t seen The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker is someone who thinks out loud and is pretty much the biggest jerk on the entire team. Seeing as the John Cena character is about to get his own show on HBO Max, a Twitter account was created to parrot his cruel, uncensored thoughts. With What If…? premiering yesterday, the Peacemaker Twitter account began to tastefully use the hashtag to roast fellow Task Force X member Bloodsport, as well as throw shots at Captain America.
While it’s hilarious that the Twitter account called out James Gunn’s pretty solid blueprint for protagonists, the funniest tweet has to be the one where Peacemaker roasts Captain America. It’s clearly fitting since Peacemaker is an almost maniacal, unhinged Captain America that will do anything for his country, even if it’s wrong.
Here is the synopsis for What If…?:
“Exploring pivotal moments from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and turning them on their head, leading the audience into uncharted territory.”
The upcoming animated series will feature the voices of Josh Brolin, Natalie Portman, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner, Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo, Chadwick Boseman, Jeffrey Wright, Hayley Atwell, and other major stars from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
What If…? will premiere on Disney Plus on August 11 with new episodes being released weekly. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the new series and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
