Marvel is reportedly considering Pedro Pascal for the role of Reed Richards in the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. Sources from The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline indicate that negotiations with Pascal are underway, but the final outcome is still uncertain, primarily due to scheduling concerns.

What you need to know about Marvel’s Fantastic Four

Also known as Mr. Fantastic, Reed Richards is a central character in the Fantastic Four comics, known for his superhuman ability to stretch his body and his unmatched genius in scientific research. In previous live-action adaptations, Reed was portrayed by actors Ioan Gruffudd and Miles Teller.

The Fantastic Four characters were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, with the team making its first comic book appearance in 1961. The previous Fantastic Four movies, while popular, were not well-received by fans or critics, and Marvel Studios has an opportunity to right the wrongs of the past and deliver a feature that is true to the spirit of the comics.

Director Matt Shakman is actively engaged in the pre-production phase of the Fantastic Four reboot at Pinewood Studios in England. The script for the Marvel Studios film was penned by Josh Friedman, best known for his work on 2005’s War of the Worlds and the Apple TV+ series Foundation.

Fantastic Four opens on May 2, 2025.  Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
