Pedro Pascal has revealed new details about his role as Maxwell Lord in Wonder Woman 1984.

While the plot of Wonder Woman 1984 is being kept under wraps, Pedro Pascal recently teased about what to expect from Maxwell Lord as he goes up against Diana Prince in the film. Comic book fans will know that Maxwell Lord is a nefarious businessman who often manipulates superheroes and other key figures for his own gain. It seems like Pedro Pascal’s Maxwell Lord will very much be a product of his surroundings during Wonder Woman 1984.

In a recent feature with Entertainment Weekly, Pedro Pascal opened up about Maxwell Lord’s mentality in Wonder Woman 1984, explaining that the villain is the greedy version of success. The star noted that because of the era that Wonder Woman 1984 takes place in, Maxwell Lord runs with the idea of getting whatever he wants because he feels he’s entitled to it, though how that puts him on a collision path with Kristen Wiig’s Cheetah and Gal Gadot’s Diana remains to be seen. Take a look at Pedro Pascal discussing Maxwell Lord below.

“Max is a dream-seller. It’s this character who encompasses a component of the era which is, you know, ‘Get whatever want, however you can. You’re entitled to it!’ And at any cost, ultimately, which represents a huge part of our culture and this kind of unabashed — it’s greed. It’s f—ing greed, of course. But it’s also about ‘How do you be your best self? How do you win?’ So he’s definitely the face of that version of success.”
