Spider-Man: Miles Morales has been revealed for the upcoming PlayStation 5 console.
Earlier today, Sony held a live event where the company revealed more information about the upcoming console, the PlayStation 5. During that event, Sony also officially announced the sequel to the 2018 Insomniac Games project, Marvel’s Spider-Man. This sequel, however, will instead focus on Miles Morales instead of Peter Parker.
In the previous game, Miles Morales appeared as a supporting character and occasionally as a playable character. In it, he would occasionally help Peter Parker and Mary Jane against Spider-Man’s enemies in more subtle ways. At the end of the game, Miles was bitten by a spider that granted him similar powers to that of Spider-Man and ended with Peter revealing his Spider-Man identity to him. The City That Never Sleeps DLC further expanded on this and revealed Peter’s plans to train him in crime-fighting. Now, the next game will pay that buildup off.
During the event, Sony officially announced the upcoming Spider-Man: Miles Morales video game for the PlayStation 5 as well as providing reveal trailer, giving fans an idea as to what to expect. The upcoming game is once again being developed by Insomniac Games and is currently set to be released sometime in the holiday season of 2020. you can see the full announcement trailer below:
