If you’re a child of the 90’s like myself, you might be disappointed that a sequel to Lionsgate and Saban’s Power Rangers reboot seems a bit unlikely at this point in time. I thought the film turned out to be a heck of a lot better than I ever expected it to be, which makes the film’s paltry $140 million worldwide gross all the more discouraging. It was a lot of fun for someone who grew up adoring the franchise, but it’s not a perfect film by any means, which means there’s plenty of stuff to poke fun of.
Today, Screen Junkies has released a brand new Honest Trailer for Power Rangers. These Honest Trailers are always hilarious and this one is no exception, lampooning the film’s attempted serious tone, its cheesier moments, its characterizations of the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers cast (especially Elizabeth Bank’s Rita Repulsa), and of course, the unabashed Krispy Kreme product placement. Check out the Power Rangers Honest Trailer below:
Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discoverer they are the only ones who save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.
Saban’s Power Rangers is now available to own on Digital HD and will be available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on June 27th.
