According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Pictures and Hasbro are currently in talks with The End of the F*****g World creator Jonathan Entwistle to direct a new Power Rangers reboot.

According to THR, Jonathan Entwistle is in early negotiations to direct the new film, which will be another reboot of the Power Rangers franchise and separate from Lionsgate’s 2017 reboot Saban’s Power Rangers. Lionsgate’s film featured a cast of rising stars including Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, Ludi Lin, RJ Cyler and Becky G and underperformed at the box office, grossing $142.3 million on a $105 million budget.

Hasbro bought the Power Rangers franchise from Saban back in 2018. Hasbro, known for their numerous properties including Transformers and G.I. Joe are developing the new film with Paramount Pictures. The film reportedly features a time travel element and involves the Power Rangers kids traveling back to the 1990s. Patrick Burleigh, writer of Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway will write the script.

Jonathan Entwistle’s credits include The End of the F*****g World for Netflix and the upcoming series I Am Not Okay with This.

But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.
