‘Power Rangers’ Director Wants A Sequel To Include Lord Zedd

Power Rangers Movie

Despite having a disappointing performance at the box office, Power Rangers director Dean Israelite recently revealed that sequel discussions were currently taking place between Lionsgate and Saban. While this does not mean that a sequel to the Power Rangers reboot will move forward, it appears the filmmaker already has plans on which villain he would like to include in a potential second film. In an interview with ComicBook.com, Israelite revealed that he would like a sequel to feature classic franchise villain Lord Zedd.

Israelite explained that the character was considered for the first film before they decided to focus exclusively on Rita Repulsa:

“Well Lord Zedd is the obvious choice, I think, in a good way. Ya know, there was a time when we were talking about Lord Zedd being in this movie. And it just felt like we didn’t have the real estate for it and I didn’t want to dilute our villains. So we kind of went all in on Rita.”

Israelite added:

“And so I think definitely it would all expanding into the next volume I definitely think have to feature Lord Zedd. I mean that’s not set in stone but I think that’s the obvious, sort of, next step to it.”
