‘Power Rangers’ Writer Says Where To Find Easter Eggs

Power Rangers Movie

The reboot of the Power Rangers franchise has been released and the screenwriter for the film suggests where to find Easter eggs during repeat viewings.

Being a direct reboot of the 1990’s TV series, 2017’s Power Rangers included lots of homages, references, and easter eggs to the original series. While some easter eggs were displayed right at the forefront, like cameos from Amy Jo Johnson and Jason David Frank, the original pink ranger and the original green ranger, respectively. Despite those crowd-pleasing moments, screenwriter John Gatins told CinemaBlend that there are a lot more, especially in the bedrooms of the rangers.

“I think when [Trini] comes in her room, there’s like… you have to be able, when you have the movie on DVD you’ll be able to stop and look at the dressing and the set dressing in the rooms of the kids. You can see things, which I always really appreciate… You’ve gotta kinda look, because we had great designers and everyone was very aware of trying to put certain things and evidence. So there’s just things that, like, you’ll smile more and more.”

John Gatins didn’t reveal anything specific beyond that, though his statement does serve as a warning for future viewings.

The story follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

Directed by Dean Israelite, the film stars Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Bill Hader, Bryan Cranston, and Elizabeth Banks.
