The first full-length trailer for 20th Century Studios’ Predator prequel, Prey, has been released online, along with a poster showcasing the movie’s new hunter.
Prey takes place 300 years ago in the Comanche Nation and sees Amber Midthunder’s Naru, a skilled warrior, attempting to protect her people against a highly-evolved Predator. As the trailer reveals, Naru dreams of becoming a great hunter, despite being told she can’t. However, she soon finds herself being hunted and fighting to survive.
‘It Knows How To Hunt. I Know How To Survive.’
A short teaser for Prey was released last month, ahead of the official trailer. Dan Trachtenberg of 10 Cloverfield Lane fame is directing the prequel, which will be given a streaming release on Hulu this August. The film will be released on Disney Plus in international territories.
The trailer promises chills and thrills in a new era of the Predator franchise, taking place long before the other installments. Check out the new trailer and poster below:
Here is the synopsis for Prey:
Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, “Prey” is the story of a young woman, Naru, a fierce and highly skilled warrior. She has been raised in the shadow of some of the most legendary hunters who roam the Great Plains, so when danger threatens her camp, she sets out to protect her people. The prey she stalks, and ultimately confronts, turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with a technically advanced arsenal, resulting in a vicious and terrifying showdown between the two adversaries.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg from a script written by Patrick Aison, Prey stars Amber Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush and Julian Black Antelope.
Prey will stream exclusively on Hulu on August 5, 2022. Be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news on the upcoming Predator prequel film, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
