The start of production for Matt Reeves’ highly-anticipated DC film, The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, has been revealed.

It has been rumored for a while that Robert Pattinson’s The Batman would begin production in the UK sometime early next year. Geeks WorldWide are now reporting that The Batman will start production on January 13 in the UK. This will not be the first Batman film to shoot in the UK. Tim Burton’s Batman, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight Rises, Batman v Superman and Justice League all filmed overseas as well.

Robert Pattinson is the only member of the cast so far, but more casting news is expected soon. Some characters who are rumored to appear includes Catwoman, The Riddler, Penguin, Firefly, Mad Hatter, and Two-Face.

Plot details for The Batman are currently under wraps, though the film will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and features a rogues’ gallery of villains The Matt Reeves film will follow Batman during his formative years as Gotham City’s protector and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC Films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new trilogy with Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.

Matt Reeves’ The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.

The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021.
