The Punisher was Frank Castle’s first solo series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the titular vigilante made his acclaimed first appearance in the second season of Daredevil. With the series officially renewed for a second season, actor Jon Bernthal revealed which Defenders he would like to see join Frank Castle on his next venture during a Q&A session at ACE Comic Con.
Bernthal first stated that he would like to see Charlie Cox appear on The Punisher:
“You know, I love Charlie [Cox]. I’ve worked with him before and I’d work with him again on anything in a heartbeat. He’s the reason I’m doing this. He brought me into this and his performance is what made me want to do it.”
Of course, Daredevil and The Punisher have crossed paths before and Bernthal added that he would also love to see Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones appear in the series:
“That being said, they’re all great. I’m a huge fan of Krysten’s [Ritter] too. She’s killer and I’d love to work with her as well.”
