Todd McFarlane Says An R-Rated ‘Spawn’ Film Is ‘Happening’; Discusses Script

While hearing Todd McFarlane talk about another Spawn film is definitely nothing new, from the sounds of things it looks like the project might be finally moving forward. For years the writer & artist has been talking about the project and now in a live Facebook video he delivered a legit update on the project. McFarlane reveals that he has currently written a 132 page script for the project (and goes on to add that Hollywood likes scripts that are around 120 pages) and that once he gets this down to a size that he approves of, the script will go through a few edits and one more draft.

Following this process, it’ll be time to add the talent into the mix. Awhile he spoke of having an Academy Award winning actor interested in the role, so we’ll see how this all pans out. Otherwise, Michael Jai White could totally still pull off Al Simmons. Just sayin’. Are you interested in another Spawn film? Who do you think would be right to direct the film or play the lead?
