Marvel star Rachel McAdams will not be returning for the upcoming film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Doctor Strange fans have had one heck of a day. Earlier today Variety reported that Sam Raimi was in talks to direct the upcoming film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Unfortunately in that same article, it was also reported that Rachel McAdams would not be returning for the sequel.
In the first Doctor Strange film, Rachel McAdams played Christine Palmer. In the film, the two were once in a romantic relationship but had since moved past it. In Doctor Strange, Rachel McAdams’ character helped Doctor Strange against his battles against Kaecilius and Dormammu and served as a more down to earth character who countered Doctor Strange’s immense ego. The report sadly did not give a reason as to why Rachel McAdams was not returning for the sequel.
