Lionsgate has released a brand new trailer for Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo: Last Blood.

With one month to go before Rambo: Last Blood arrives in theaters, Sylvester Stallone gave fans a brand new preview of John Rambo’s final adventure. The intense teaser used footage from First Blood and Rambo: First Blood Part II to remind audiences just how vicious the hardened veteran can be with anything he can get his hands on. Even though it’s been eleven years since the last film, Sylvester Stallone’s John Rambo seemingly hasn’t lost his touch.

The soldier might be getting older but the new trailer for Rambo: Last Blood focuses on how far he’ll go to protect the ones he loves, even if that means going to head-to-head with a drug cartel, led by Sergio Peris-Menchata’s villainous Hugo Martinez. Sylvester Stallone has brought plenty of iconic characters to the screen in his career — and actor seemed genuinely excited for audiences to watch John Rambo get back in the fight once again when the trailer initially debuted on the his Instagram page.

Here is the plot for Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo: Last Blood:

The plot follows the titular character as he crosses the U.S.-Mexico border to find a kidnapped child who is the daughter of a close friend. This mission will find him going up against a cartel and their leader.

Directed by Adrian Grunberg from a script written by Matthew Cirulnick and Stallone, Rambo 5: Last Blood also stars Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Hugo Martinez, and Paz Vega. The film comes from Lionsgate, Millennium Films, and Campbell Grobman Films.

The Rambo franchise, which started in 1982, is based on the novel First Blood by David Morrell. Last Blood will be the franchise’s fifth installment and follows 2008’s Rambo, which was directed by Stallone.

Rambo: Last Blood opens in theaters on September 20, 2019.
