Rami Malek has promised a complex James Bond villain for the upcoming film No Time To Die.
James Bond villains have a reputation as being over the top and a bit on the one-dimensional side. Their plans are often completely nuts and have been the subject of parody numerous times. There is an argument to be made, however, that the villains in the Danial Craig era of James Bond have been a bit more grounded and three dimensional and it seems that Rami Malek’s character in No Time To Die will continue in this direction.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Rami Malek talked a bit about his James Bond villain in No Time to Die, calling the character complex. Rami Malek also praised Daniel Craig’s professional behavior as James Bond:
“He’s quite unique. He’s very complex. Daniel [Craig] calls him ‘misunderstood.’ But I had the most extraordinary time going head-to-head with [Craig]. He is a consummate professional. What was really special about that is, you see these movies, and I love the Bond films, but on day one, going out, on stage, on set, in front of the lens…I actually got a Broadway version, sitting in the front seat, watching Bond do it firsthand. It took me a second to step back and go, ‘What’s my first line again?’”
