Remy Hii’s mystery role in Spider-Man: Far From Home has been revealed following a set visit conducted by the press over the summer.
As anticipation builds for Spider-Man: Far From Home, many Marvel fans are looking for every possible detail about the film. One such detail that has eluded many is the mystery role that Crazy Rich Asians and Marco Polo actor Remy Hii has in the film. All that was known is that he would be playing a student based on the film’s first trailer.
While many speculated he would be playing comic book character Alistair Smythe, it turns out Remy Hii will be playing a student named Brad. In a press visit to the UK over the summer, producer Eric Carroll said the following about the character:
“He is the kind of guy [that] guys like me and Peter hated in high school. His hair is always looking right, the clothes always fit the way they’re supposed to, he always would have something funny to say, and he’s read all the same books as MJ – or at least he lies and says he’s read all the same books as MJ… He’s not mean-spirited. He doesn’t pick on Peter or shove him in lockers. He just happens to make the girls Peter likes laugh a lot, which makes Peter uncomfortable.
It seems that Remy Hii will be playing an original character unlike many expected; however, it seems like the rivalry between Peter and Brad will be a very important story element in the film. Carroll also spoke about their dynamic:
“Basically, he tries to make Brad look bad. And almost blows up his bus by launching some weaponized drones that this spy team has access to.”
While the film is still shrouded in secrecy, you can expect Spider-Man: Far From Home to hit theaters on July 2, 2019. Are you excited for Spider-Man: Far From Home? What do you hope to see from Remy Hii’s Brad? Let us know in the comments!
