As more of the Star Wars universe continues to expand throughout Disney Parks around the world, a certain Jedi-to-be will now be featured in a special stage show at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at the Walt Disney World Resort. Rey, who made her debut in Star Wars: The Force Awakens now takes the stage in the show Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away – which will return after a brief hiatus.
In this stage show that takes place on a stage in front of The Great Movie Ride, iconic characters throughout the Star Wars Saga appear on stage together for a special celebration of the galaxy that George Lucas created. Some of the characters featured include C-3PO, R2-D2, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Boba Fett, Captain Phasma, Kylo Ren and BB-8.
With Rey now joining in on the fun, she is the latest character from the sequel trilogy to take the stage. Rey is seen with her arm outstretched towards the audience with the iconic lightsaber in her hand, similar to the ending scene between her and Luke Skywalker at the end of The Force Awakens.
The addition of Rey is not the only new element added to the Star Wars festivities at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The park’s nighttime show Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular will now feature sequences from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Both Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disneyland in Anaheim, CA will be seeing a significant Star Wars presence in the near future. Star Wars Land is currently under construction at both parks, targeting a grand opening sometime in 2019 – the same year Star Wars: Episode IX is set to arrive in theaters.
Are you excited about some of these new galactic additions to Disney Parks? What other sequel trilogy characters would you like to see join Rey onstage? Hopefully her friends Finn and Poe Dameron can join in on the action as well.
Written and directed by Rian Johnson and starring Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran, Star Wars: The Last Jedi arrives in our galaxy on December 15, 2017.
