Ryan Reynold has shared his thoughts on Josh Brolin as the time traveling mutant Cable in the upcoming Deadpool sequel.
Since Brolin was announced to be crossing over from the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the Fox Marvel films, the actor has gotten into tremendous shape for the role and teased Reynolds on social media. While the film has only been in production for a few weeks, director David Leitch recently shared that he couldn’t be happier with Brolin in the role and now Reynolds has offered his opinion on Brolin’s take on the character.
In a recent interview with Fandango, Reynolds joked about being punched by Brolin as he teased an epic take on Cable in Deadpool 2:
“I think it’s going to be very interesting. I’ve spent this last week on the business end of many Josh Brolin punches. Both verbal and physical and literal and it’s going to be pretty fantastic. He’s going to be epic. He’s going to be an epic cable.”
In addition to Brolin as Cable and Reynolds who returns for the sequel as the merc with the mouth, Zazie Beetz has joined the cast as Domino. Much of the cast from the first film is also set to return including Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapcic as the voice of Colossus, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa and T.J. Miller as Weasel, and Leslie Uggams and Blind Al.
Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick returned to script the sequel which is currently shooting in Vancouver. Production is expected to continue through September.
Deadpool 2 is currently slated to hit theaters on June 1, 2018.
