The Flash alum Rick Cosnett came out as a gay in a new video shared on his official Instagram account.
The first season of The Flash introduced fans to Rick Cosnett’s Eddie Thawne, the partner of Detective Joe West and boyfriend of Iris. However, the first season of The Flash concluded with Rick Cosnett’s Eddie Thawne discovering he was an ancestor of the villainous Reverse-Flash and later killing himself to prevent the murderous speedster from ever being born.
Since then, Rick Cosnett has only a few appearances on The Flash, but fans have been able to continue following to him and his career social media. Today, Rick Cosnett took to his official Instagram account to post a video in which he comes out as gay, telling viewers that his decision reveal this publicly was made as part of efforts to live his own truth:
“Hi, everyone! Dramatic pause. I’m gay and I just wanted everyone to know because I’ve made a promise to myself to live my truth every day. And sometimes that is a really hard thing to do when you have all these subconcious things you don’t even know about from childhood, and from society, and from being… you know, just life.”
