A poster from Disney’s D23 Expo pays an emotional tribute to Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man with a heartfelt line from Avengers: Endgame.
While fans were eager to find out news about upcoming Marvel Studios projects, D23 also offered an emotional tribute to the hero that kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man. The new poster features a stylistic collage of Iron Man’s most iconic moments from all of Robert Downey Jr.’s appearances. It spans from Tony Stark’s cocky genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist days to the monumental fight between Iron Man and Captain America, right the way up to defeating Thanos with that epic line: “I am Iron Man.”
But perhaps the most emotional moment of all included on the poster is the tagline “We Love You 3000” — obviously referencing Morgan Stark telling her Dad “I Love You 3000.” It’s a fitting tribute for Iron Man and Robert Downey Jr. as it acknowledges exactly how far he’s developed Tony Stark since his early days as a simple cocky superhero. Take a look at the D23 Iron Man poster below.
