Robert Downey Jr. may not be done with the Marvel Cinematic Universe just yet as a new report suggests that the actor is returning as Tony Stark for Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow.

According to Deadline, Robert Downey Jr. is reprising his role as Tony Stark for Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, a film set between the events of 2016’s Captain America: Civil War and 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War. Robert Downey Jr. and Scarlett Johansson recently shared the screen in the Marvel Studios epic Avengers: Endgame, which saw their respective characters sacrificing themselves to take down Thanos and his forces.

The information was revealed in a Deadline article about the 45th Annual Saturn Awards, which took place this past Friday. At the event, Robert Downey Jr. won Best Actor for his portrayal of Tony Stark in Avengers: Endgame.

Full plot details on Black Widow are currently under wraps, though it has been revealed that the film is set after the events of Captain America: Civil War and will see Scarlett Johansson’s Nathasha Romanoff take on the villainous Taskmaster. The film will also mark the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of Yelena Belova, the second modern-era character to use the Black Widow title in the comics.

Directed by Cate Shortland from a script written by Jac Schaeffer and Ned Benson, Black Widow stars Scarlett Johansson, David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, and Rachel Weisz. Production is currently underway.

Black Widow arrives in theaters on May 1, 2020. Stay tuned for the latest news on Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr. and the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
