‘Avengers’ Star Robert Downey Jr. Celebrates St. Patrick’s Day In Style

'Avengers: Infinity War' star Robert Downey Jr. embraces the Luck of the Irish as he dons nothing but green celebrating St. Patrick's Day 2018.

Avengers: Infinity War star Robert Downey Jr. is weeks away from the extensive press tour for the highly-anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe film. But in the mean time, Tony Stark himself is enjoying himself for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day.

On his official Instagram, the Academy Award-nominated actor behind Iron Man dons a spirited green morphsuit riddled with clovers as he excitedly embraces a tree. As you can see, Downey is pretty ecstatic for this time of year.

Based off of comments from Kevin Feige and the Russo Brothers, Downey is going to need all the luck. Given the weight of Infinity War and the untitled fourth Avengers film, several members of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are expected to die amidst all the turmoil Thanos (Josh Brolin) will unleash. Given that Downey’s Iron Man was the first Avenger audiences have met, having Stark as one of the major casualties seems probable.

Perhaps this is why Downey is going all-out celerating St. Patrick’s Day. Maybe in his mind, the Luck of the Irish will help him survive against the Infinity Stones. Only time will tell.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland, Sebastian Stan, Chadwick Boseman, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Benedict Wong, Tom Hiddleston, Tessa Thompson, Benicio Del Toro, Danai Gurira and Josh Brolin. Here’s the official synopsis:

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters April 27, 2018.
