Robert Pattinson has become quite the commodity in Hollywood lately and his schedule is only getting busier. Not only is he set to replace Ben Affleck as the next Batman, but Robert Pattinson is also currently shooting Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film Tenet in which he’ll star. The film is scheduled to be released in 2020. But that’s not all, Robert Pattinson has also been cast with Sebastian Stan and Tom Holland in The Devil All the Time.

Plot details for The Batman remain under lock and key. Rumors once pointed to an early draft of the script featuring Ben Affleck bookending the standalone film as his current Batman while the film also introduced a younger version of the character. But with Ben Affleck retired from the role, Robert Pattinson will officially replace the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League actor in the role.

While not much is known, Matt Reeves has confirmed The Batman featuring Robert Pattinson will not be based on Frank Miller’s Year One comic and will feature Batman as the world’s greatest detective more than previous iterations have in the past. Production is expected to kick off early next year.

The Batman is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC Films. The list also includes The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Supergirl, New GodsNightwingand DC’s Suicide Squad spin-off Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) with Margot Robbie.
