Robert Pattinson’s salary for The Batman has been revealed, and it seems like one of his potential co-stars is trying to get a better deal for his involvement with the film.
According to Variety’s Justin Kroll, Robert Pattinson is making under $5 million for his first appearance as Batman. This information comes alongside a short report suggesting that Jonah Hill, who has been in discussions for a role, wants $10 million, which is said to be more than double what Robert Pattinson, the lead actor of the film, is going to get.
Justin Kroll’s information on Robert Pattinson’s salary for The Batman can be read below:
As it stands, a sub-$5 million deal for a first appearance is actually a pretty great deal, especially if Robert Pattinson is meant to portray the Batman long after a trilogy of appearances. When Robert Downey Junior took the part of Iron Man, for instance, he only got half a million dollars for his first film, and by Avengers: Endgame, his salary took up a big chunk of the movie’s already-massive production budget. So provided that The Batman is a hit, Robert Pattinson can only go up from here.
We know that The Batman will center around a younger Bruce Wayne and feature a Rogues’ Gallery of villains that reportedly includes Catwoman and The Penguin. Director Matt Reeves has also confirmed that it will not be directly based on Frank Miller’s acclaimed Year One comic and will make use of the Dark Knight’s detective skills to a greater extent than previous DC Films. It is expected to be the first chapter in a new movie trilogy. Robert Pattinson stars as Bruce Wayne/Batman, along with Jeffrey Wright as Commisioner James “Jim” Gordon. Jonah Hill is in discussions for what appears to be a supervillain role, but has not yet been confirmed to be a part of the cast.
The Batman will be released in theaters on June 25, 2021. The film will be written and directed by Matt Reeves.
