A new still from The Batman shows Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader and Jeffrey Wright’s Jim Gordon teaming up.

Matt Reeves’ brooding take on The Dark Knight is set to hit cinemas in just over a month. The highly-anticipated DC reboot is set to feature Robert Pattinson as the titular character. Though his casting was controversial at the time of the announcement, audiences have opened up Pattinson’s Batman as first looks and promos trickled in. In addition to Pattinson, director Matt Reeves has assembled an all-star cast to portray Gotham’s finest and deadliest.

Jeffrey Wright has been tapped to play Commissioner Jim Gordon, who seems to be open to working with The Batman, a relatively new vigilante that haunts the streets of Gotham. Details on Wright’s Gordon are slim but it’s possible that he’s set to be a main player going forward as the character could potentially show up in HBO Max’s spin-off police series set in Gotham.

With the film set to hit cinemas soon, Total Film magazine has debuted three new stills from The Batman. The first still shows Robert Pattinson in his suit as The Dark Knight, menacingly looking on into the distance. The second show Pattinson and Jeffrey Wright’s characters together, looking at someone or something. Perhaps The Riddler or one of his devious puzzles? The final still shows Batman looking at Peter Sarsgaard’s character, who has been kidnapped by The Riddler and has a bomb attached to his neck.

Here is the synopsis for The Batman:

Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman (Robert Pattinson), striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies — Alfred Pennyworth (Andy Serkis), Lt. James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright) — amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.

When a killer targets Gotham’s elite with a series of sadistic machinations, a trail of cryptic clues sends the World’s Greatest Detective on an investigation into the underworld, where he encounters such characters as Selina Kyle/aka Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), Oswald Cobblepot/aka the Penguin (Colin Farrell), Carmine Falcone (John Turturro), and Edward Nashton/aka the Riddler (Paul Dano). As the evidence begins to lead closer to home and the scale of the perpetrator’s plans becomes clear, Batman must forge new relationships, unmask the culprit, and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued Gotham City.

Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the titular hero, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.
