This version of Batman has been teased as "desperate".

The Batman Robert Pattinson Matt Reeves Trailer Shot

Robert Pattinson’s performance as The Batman has been teased as “raw” in the latest synopsis for the DC film.

After a jaw-dropping second trailer at DC FanDome, a brand new synopsis for The Batman has been released. Unlike the trailer, which gave us further glimpses at Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader and the medley of villains he’ll be battling, the synopsis doesn’t give us much in terms of plot details. Instead, the synopsis sets the mood and vibe we can expect from the film when we’re in cinemas this upcoming March.

“THE BATMAN is an edgy, action-packed thriller that depicts Batman in his early years, struggling to balance rage with righteousness as he investigates a disturbing mystery that has terrorized Gotham. Robert Pattinson delivers a raw, intense portrayal of Batman as a disillusioned, desperate vigilante awakened by the realization that the anger consuming him makes him no better than the ruthless serial killer he’s hunting.”

It’s interesting how the synopsis throws away core plot details in favor of getting us into the psyche of Robert Pattinson’s The Batman. It’s clear that an important part of the film will be Bruce Wayne’s obsession with being The Dark Knight, and the latest trailer did a great job of teasing how angry this iteration of the character can be.

Directed by Matt Reeves, The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the titular hero, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Paul Dano as the Riddler, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gil Colson, Jayme Lawson as Bella Reál, with Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Colin Farrell as the Penguin.

The Batman will hit theaters on March 4, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming film, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
