Robin Wright has stated that if the DC Extended Universe needs more of her character (General Antiope), she’ll be willing to come back – especially for the Wonder Woman sequel.
Speaking to E!, Robin Wright explained that she wouldn’t hesitate to return for Wonder Woman 2 if asked:
“I would absolutely return and do a sequel – for sure. C’mon – girl power!”
As is stands, Antiope was slain at the beginning of Wonder Woman when German forces chased American spy Steve Trevor into the hidden world of Themyscira, taking a bullet to save Diana before letting her know of her greater destiny. Antiope will be appearing again in Justice League, but only in a flashback sequence near the beginning of the film. Antiope could be resurrected in Wonder Woman 2 somehow, but her role will most likely be reserved to flashback scenes presuming that she’s even part of the movie. Wright’s full remarks can be seen below:
Wonder Woman is now available on home video. Its cast includes Gal Gadot as Diana Prince, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Lucy Davis as Etta Candy, David Thewlis as Sir Patrick Morgan, Elena Anaya as Doctor Isabel Maru (Doctor Poison), and Danny Huston as General Erich Ludendorff.
Wonder Woman 2 is in development with a tentative release date of December 13, 2019 (which is likely to move due to Star Wars Episode IX now releasing a week later). Confirmed to return are Gal Gadot as Diana Prince and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor.
