Ron Howard has taken to Twitter to share an image from his first day on set of the upcoming Untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story at Pinewood Studios.
Howard was announced just one week ago to have taken over as director on the project after it revealed that directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were relieved of their directorial duties due to clashing with Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy since day one on the production. Principal photography had begun back in January and the film had only three scheduled weeks of filming left but will now extend into September.
Lucasfilm wasted no time, bringing on the Oscar-winning director Howard to keep the film on track for its scheduled May 2018 release date. The director was reportedly set to arrive in London to begin his work on the film June 26 but revealed today was his first day actually on set of the spinoff, sharing a photo of his boots and case of water. You can check it out below.
Cool scene today but I’m afraid this is the most revealing image I dare share from my 1st day on the set of the Untitled Han Solo movie pic.twitter.com/RB15lG7FGE
