UPDATE: Entertainment Weekly has revealed that rumors of the actress joining the cast of season seven are not true. The site contacted Lansbury’s team, who have officially confirmed that the report is not accurate.
Game of Thrones is now filming its seventh season in Ireland, meaning that the next few months are going to be full of rumors and crazy theories. In fact, there’s already a new rumor. Take this one with a grain of salt, but German news site Bild is reporting that actress Angela Lansbury (Murder, She Wrote) is in talks to join the cast of the series.
According to the report, Lansbury will guest star in two episodes of the upcoming season, which will premiere sometime next summer. As per usual, no further details were provided on her role, but the actress will reportedly be on set for four days. HBO has yet to confirm this rumor, but we’ll keep you updated.
As previously reported, the seventh season will run for seven episodes instead of the usual ten. Last week, it was also revealed that the show has cast Academy Award winner Jim Broadbent (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) in a “significant” role. Details about Broadbent’s character are being kept under wraps.
