A rumor suggests that X-Men: Days of Future Past star Evan Peters will be appearing in Elizabeth Olsen’s upcoming Disney Plus series WandaVision.
According to Murphy’s Multiverse, X-Men star Evan Peters has been recruited for a mystery role in the upcoming WandaVision series that’s set to premiere at the end of the year. The outlet reports that Peter, who is also a prominent member of the American Horror Story anthology series, filmed his scenes late last year. In the X-Men series from Fox, Peter played Quicksilver for three movies, receiving considerable acclaim from both fans and critics for the portrayal of the speedster. There are no details regarding who Peter will be playing in the upcoming Elizabeth Olsen series which focuses on Wanda Maximoff… who is technically his sister from another cinematic universe.
Elizabeth Olsen debuted as Wanda Maximoff in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s Pietro Maximoff, who just so happens to also be Quicksilver. At the end of the superhero ensemble film, Taylor-Johnson’s Quicksilver passed away, leaving Wanda to be the only Maximoff sibling alive. While details on WandaVision are slim, the show is set to focus on Wanda attempting to live a suburban lifestyle. Throwing Evan Peters into the mix just made the whole ordeal more exciting and complicated.
The most obvious speculation is that Evan Peters is reprising his role as Quicksilver in WandaVision, which would actually be a perfect way to slowly integrate the Fox properties into the MCU. Seeing as Aaron Taylor-Johnson has officially retired from the role of Quicksilver, Peters could easily be recast in the role. Of course, this is only a rumor at the moment, but it certainly would be interesting to see Peters’ X-Men character rubbing shoulders with Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda. Of course, it’s entirely possible that Peters is playing a completely different character in the series that we just don’t know about yet. The American Horror Story star is an incredibly versatile actor and it’d be completely unfair to box him in that role considering he’s capable of doing so much more!
