Rumored Screenings Of ‘Captain America: Civil War’ Creating Positive Buzz

Captain America: Civil War

Captain America: Civil War will be released on May 6th but it appears that Marvel has already completed the film and is showing it to very selective audiences.

Birth. Movies. Death. explained that they have spoken with individuals who have already seen the movie and reactions are incredibly positive. Audience members claim that this movie is a true sequel to Captain America: Winter Soldier and that the last half-hour of this movie is extremely taxing both emotionally and physically.

Marvel just released brand new behind-the-scenes shots from Civil War. These awesome stills include a new look at T’Challa unmasked and more images of Steve Rogers with Bucky Barnes.

Civil War stars Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Emily VanCamp, Don Cheadle, Jeremy Renner, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd and Frank Grillo, with William Hurt and Daniel Brühl.

Get ready to choose your side when Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6, 2016.

Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

Great to hear. I’m very excited for Civil War. Where is the screening talk for BvS? It’s less than a month away with nothing but the in studio screening.

    • w0undedmagic

This report comes from Birth Movies Death-a site who has spent the last 2 years crapping on anything BvS related. I’m a fan of both Marvel and DC, so I don’t care either way-just thought I’d answer your question regarding this biased BMD report.

      • Carl

This isn’t the 1st report about a test screening for Civil War going very well.

      • He’s reporting on what people who saw the film said about it. Bias doesn’t enter into it. Also, it’s not BMD’s fault that Batman Loves Superman’s marketing is so bad.

        • w0undedmagic

“Derp derpity Batman Lovesss Superman derp derrr”
          Get some new material, Avocado.

          • I mean, I knew you were stupid before I responded to you. There was no need to reiterate.

          • w0undedmagic

            Avocado.

    • Whatsupdoc

I’ve heard that this Civil War screening was a studio screening. Sorry.

      • Carl

That’s great but without proof it doesn’t matter what you say. This also isn’t the 1st report of a great test screening.

        • Whatsupdoc

I know you are but what am I? Seriously don’t answer that. 😉

      • Queen_Boudicca

They have screened both for the studio and for 3rd party test audiences.

        • Whatsupdoc

It’s the same situation with BvS. No major studio releases a film this size and scope without showing it to people first. Just for the record I liked WS alot and I’m looking forward to this too.

      • Investigatin Detective

Disney/Marvel test screenings prior to release are pretty common. Usually start anywhere from 3 months out (studio) and then a month or two for general audiences. I had seen Winter Soldier twice before it opened thanks to their screening policies. WB does audience screenings pretty far out as well. I had seen MoS a few weeks prior to release as well. Wouldn’t be shocked to see BvS screenings start popping up prior to the fan one.

    • henryducard

There is a batman v superman fan screening before the films release. I know because I will be attending it. Funny enough the sites description of it being emotionally taxing was similar to how bvs was described as almost unsettling seeing the raw emotion of batman and superman brawling.

      • Carl

I’m not saying there won’t be one but Civil War has reports of 2 while BvS only has the studio one, yet it comes out a month later.

Also who described BvS as unsettling? I never read that. Got a link?

        • henryducard

2 critic screenings or fan screenings? How do you even manage to get into the Disney screening? WB is holding an actual fan screening strictly for fans not just media critics.

          • Carl

Both articles make them out to be test screenings, neither critics or fans.

          • henryducard

So just the studio watching their own movie?? Why does that even matter? Of course bob iger is going to come out in a Mickey mouse shirt and say it’s wonderful haha!

          • Carl

No, not the studio. A test screening is an audience that doesn’t know what they are seeing.

      • Axxell

If you’re watching DoJ at this stage, it’s not a screenng but an early release. Screening is when they show it to a limited audience to gauge general reaction and plan accordingly. By now WB is already set on their strategy, hence they’re selling general audience tickets.

        Semantics, I know…

        • henryducard

It’s mostly just for publicity to get fans talking about it once they see it to boost ticket sales. It’s pretty much exactly what happened with deadpool.

    • Chris.P

The same source also said they heard Gal Gadot steals the show in BvS.

      • Carl

Never read that. Got a link? All I’ve been reading is that Affleck and Eisenberg are very good.

        • Whatsupdoc

I don’t care about what Faraci says, but here’s a link from some people who actually report the news instead of trying to make it.

          • QTN

amazing how upset people get when somebody says “I’ve heard mixed things!” MOS fans react like he and McWeeny screwed a goat or something. SMH

          • Whatsupdoc

There doesn’t seem to be middle ground with fans anymore, particularly on line. Either a film is amazing or its horrible. Sometimes the intriguing stuff sits in the grey zone. But for some reason people don’t like looking there.

          • You should start your own journalism site. I’m sure you’d be great at it and your reader would really enjoy it.

          • Whatsupdoc

That’s flattering;). Since you’re responding I’m assuming you would be that reader.

        • Chris.P

David Faraci mentioned it on his twitter the same day he talked about all this Civil War stuff.

    • Ben Affleck

There have been many reports. Most of them were false, as someone leaked false plot points after claiming to see it, and there were stupid lies saying the studio is worried about it. Then there were more saying it’s creating positive buzz within the studio execs and some of the people who have seen it.

At this point just let Batman v Superman come out and formulate your own opinion about it, rather than trying to go with consensus

      • Carl

That’s exactly what I’m doing. I’m waiting until I hear more about it before rushing to buy tickets.

        • Whatsupdoc

Waiting for BvS, but not CW?

        • Ben Affleck

We just got word from a writer who has seen it. He sounds really legit, but he’s not posting spoilers. Sounds like it delivers. That’s pretty much all I know about that 😀 he’s an Entertainment Weekly writer

  • Ben Affleck

Too bad they spoiled the whole movie in the first trailer. It’s all about Steve friend zoning Tony

    • Axxell
      • Ben Affleck

Nah, it’s ok. I make a point of not taking others’ prescriptions.

        • Axxell

You’re right…you need an industrial grade prescription for butthurt…

          • Whatsupdoc

Why are you so interested in other peoples butts?

          • Axxell

Only ever since his butthurt caused his petty whining…

  • Alexander Frost

“Taxing emotionally and physically” lol how is it “physically” taxing? You sit down and watch a film, you don’t stand up and do 50 laps while it plays.

    • Carl

They probably mean for the characters in the movie.

    • Axxell

LOL! They make #teamcaptain and #teamironman duke it out as it happens on screen.

    • Bruce Norris

You know how that goes, sometimes you can feel drained after watching an extensive and intense fight scene.

    • Alex Vidal

I laughed harder than I should have!

  • Wil☺

    Que Maneiro!
