Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds took a shot at Henry Cavill’s Justice League mustache in a new ad for Aviation Gin.
In true Deadpool fashion, Ryan Reynolds just showcased his irreverent sense of humor in this new ad for Aviation Gin. The ad consists of Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds donning a mustache asking viewers about whether or not drinking Aviation Gin would make someone a superhero. The Deadpool star then takes a sip from his mug and after bringing it down, the mustache on his face is digitally removed just like Henry Cavill’s Justice League mustache with a more exaggerated visual effect in this case.

Ryan Reynolds was obviously poking fun at one of the most infamous elements of the Justice League movie. During the film’s post-production (which was overseen by The Avengers director Joss Whedon), Henry Cavill was contractually obligated to keep his mustache for his work in Mission: Impossible – Fallout despite having to do reshoots on Justice League. Because of this, Henry Cavill had to have his facial hair digitally removed in post and the finished results were quite apparent to critics and fans alike.
This is not the first time Ryan Reynolds poked fun at Henry Cavill’s Justice League mustache fiasco. One of the trailers for Deadpool 2 finds Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth berating the VFX artists for not finishing up Cable’s design, with the character saying the following:
“Why are the visual effects not done? It’s a metal arm. It’s not like we’re trying to remove a mustache!”
Either way, this is all in good fun on Ryan Reynolds’ part. It also just goes to show that his own sense of humor is so apparent even when he’s not playing Deadpool.
Meanwhile, Henry Cavill was last seen as Superman in Justice League. Here is the official synopsis for the film:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
Justice League is now available on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital HD. Be sure to continue following us for all the latest news on Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool, Henry Cavill’s Superman and more!
