Despite appearing in Avengers: Infinity War‘s end credits scene, Samuel L. Jackson suggests Nick Fury will not appear in Avengers: Endgame.
Nick Fury is making a big MCU comeback this year after being on the sidelines since Avengers: Age of Ultron. Fury will appear in Captain Marvel, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and most fans presumed he would appear in Avengers: Endgame. However, Jackson appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, where MTV’s Josh Horowitz asked the actor if he has read the top-secret script for Endgame:
“Not Avengers: Endgame, no. I generally read the scripts I’m in. I don’t just go to my part [laughs].”
It would be very surprising if Fury wasn’t apart of the culmination of the MCU in Endgame and Jackson could be protecting a surprise appearance in the film. That being said, Marvel Studios is known for going to extreme measures with their scripts, but it seems Jackson prefers to read the entire script unless it is a cameo:
“I used to. Or I’ll do it when somebody sends me a script and they say, ‘We want you to do a cameo here,’ I’ll go look for what that cameo is, and depending upon what that cameo is, it may entice me to go back and read what happened before and what happens after. But most times, no, I read the whole script all the time. I like scripts. It don’t take that long to read ‘em.”

After the mid-credits scene for Ant-Man and the Wasp, many were theorizing that the Avengers would have to rescue Scott Lang from the Quantum Realm and subsequently use the alternate dimension to travel back in time to defeat Thanos. While it appears Scott Lang managed to escape on his own, he may have brought the van containing the way to the Quantum Realm to the Avengers’ front door.

While the Hulk was absent from the first Avengers: Endgame trailer, Bruce Banner managed to make a brief appearance. The brilliant scientist could be seen assessing the list of casualties of Thanos’ decimation and it has clearly taken an emotional toll.
