Samuel L. Jackson Questions Why Nick Fury Hasn’t Met Black Panther

Samuel L. Jackson Nick Fury The Avengers Marvel

You would certainly think that the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. would know of Black Panther, but that might not be the case. In an interview with SiriusXM, alongside fellow MCU stars Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson, Samuel L Jackson lamented that his character, Nick Fury, is not in Black Panther despite being one of Marvel Studios’ first black characters.

“I can’t go to Wakanda, for some reason. I’m the only black character you’ve got in the Marvel universe right now, now for some reason when you do a black Marvel movie, I can’t show up in Wakanda? Okay, fine. I’ll meet him later.”

Of course, there is a strong possibility that Nick Fury and T’Challa will meet in Avengers: Infinity War, since the film is supposed to feature so many characters. Still, it is a little strange that Nick Fury couldn’t at least have some sort of cameo in Black Panther after T’Challa made such an introduction with Civil War. But if that doesn’t pan out, maybe they can get Samuel L Jackson to do a scene or two for season 2 of Luke Cage.

Check out the full video below as Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson and Samuel L Jackson all comment on whether or not their characters meet in the MCU.

Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya,  with Academy Award nominee Angela Bassett, Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis. It does not star Samuel L. Jackson.

“Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the events of “Captain America: Civil War,” returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation of Wakanda to take his place as King. However, when an old enemy reappears on the radar, T’Challa’s mettle as King and Black Panther is tested when he is drawn into a conflict that puts the entire fate of Wakanda and the world at risk.

Black Panther will premiere on February 16, 2018. For more information on Black Panther, keep checking Heroic Hollywood.
