Sandra Bullock Tells Marvel To Cast Daniel Radcliffe As Wolverine

Could Radcliffe don the claws?

Following plenty of online speculation and fan art, Sandra Bullock has come out in strong support of casting Daniel Radcliffe as the next Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman made his last appearance as Wolverine in 2017’s Logan and now, with Marvel Studios regaining the rights to the X-Men franchise, there have been plenty of rumors and suggestions as to who could be the MCU’s new Wolverine. A surprising name that has been put forward by fans is the Harry Potter franchise’s Daniel Radcliffe. While not an obvious choice for the gruff Canadian mutant, some fan art has made a convincing case for Radcliffe’s suitability for the part. Those fans who are eager to see a live-action Wolverine as diminutive as his comic book counterpart are also likely to be pleased with Radcliffe’s shorter frame.

Daniel Radcliffe appeared recently in an interview with It’s Gone Viral, promoting his new film, The Lost City, alongside co-star Sandra Bullock. During the interview, the topic of weird rumors was raised and the interviewer asked Radcliffe what it was like hearing he has been cast as Wolverine all the time. Bullock then asked him why he doesn’t just do it, to which Radcliffe responds that nobody’s asked him and it’s all just Twitter speculation. At this point, much to Radcliffe’s apparent embarrassment, Bullock turns straight to camera and says to the good folks at Marvel:

“Wolverine people! Can you please just f***ing cast him? Just do it. Stop tiptoeing around and having people ask at press junkets. Just ask the man.”

Clearly Bullock has a lot of faith in her co-star and would be happy to see Daniel Radcliffe become Marvel’s Wolverine. However, those Twitter speculators Radcliffe mentioned are probably a little more divided on the matter.

Wolverine was last seen on the big screen in the Academy Award-nominated film Logan. Here is the synopsis:

In the near future, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hide out on the Mexican border. But Logan’s attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, being pursued by dark forces.

Directed by James Mangold, Logan stars Hugh Jackman, Sir Patrick Stewart, Dafne Keen, Stephen Merchant, Richard E. Grant, Eriq LaSalle, Elizabeth Rodriguez, and Boyd Holbrook. Logan is available on Digital HD, Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD.
