If you ask most critics, Suicide Squad was a “mess”, a “disaster”, and I’ve even seen someone go as far as to call it a “travesty”. If you ask DC fans, on the other hand, the movie was the complete opposite. Like Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before it, you either love Suicide Squad or you hate it. If there is one thing that is for sure, the cast of the film all had chemistry – from Will Smith’s Deadshot all the way down to Scott Eastwood’s character, GQ Edwards.
GQ was one of Rick Flag’s Navy SEALs that accompanied him during his missions. The role was fairly insignificant, but is seems as though Eastwood liked playing the part enough to warrant an appearance in the film’s potential sequel. Eastwood spoke to Screen Rant, and when asked about the chances he would be returning for the sequel, he responded with:
“Oh, yeah, of course. Working with David Ayer… the guy is a great filmmaker.”
Eastwood calls Ayer out by name and gives him the credit he deserves for Suicide Squad being the film it is – whether that means you hate it or you love it is up to you.
Figuring they’re all expendable, a U.S. intelligence officer decides to assemble a team of dangerous, incarcerated supervillains for a top-secret mission. Now armed with government weapons, Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc and other despicable inmates must learn to work together. Dubbed Task Force X, the criminals unite to battle a mysterious and powerful entity, while the diabolical Joker (Jared Leto) launches an evil agenda of his own.
Would you like to see Scott Eastwood return for a Suicide Squad sequel? How do you think it would be possible – considering his character died during the first film? Make sure to let us know below in the comments.
