Scott Eastwood Says He Would Return For A ‘Suicide Squad’ Sequel

If you ask most critics, Suicide Squad was a “mess”, a “disaster”, and I’ve even seen someone go as far as to call it a “travesty”. If you ask DC fans, on the other hand, the movie was the complete opposite. Like Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice before it, you either love Suicide Squad or you hate it. If there is one thing that is for sure, the cast of the film all had chemistry – from Will Smith’s Deadshot all the way down to Scott Eastwood’s character, GQ Edwards.

GQ was one of Rick Flag’s Navy SEALs that accompanied him during his missions. The role was fairly insignificant, but is seems as though Eastwood liked playing the part enough to warrant an appearance in the film’s potential sequel. Eastwood spoke to Screen Rant, and when asked about the chances he would be returning for the sequel, he responded with:

“Oh, yeah, of course. Working with David Ayer… the guy is a great filmmaker.”

Eastwood calls Ayer out by name and gives him the credit he deserves for Suicide Squad being the film it is – whether that means you hate it or you love it is up to you.

Figuring they’re all expendable, a U.S. intelligence officer decides to assemble a team of dangerous, incarcerated supervillains for a top-secret mission. Now armed with government weapons, Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc and other despicable inmates must learn to work together. Dubbed Task Force X, the criminals unite to battle a mysterious and powerful entity, while the diabolical Joker (Jared Leto) launches an evil agenda of his own.

Would you like to see Scott Eastwood return for a Suicide Squad sequel? How do you think it would be possible – considering his character died during the first film? Make sure to let us know below in the comments.

Jack of some trades, master of some others. That saying never really made a lot of sense to me.

Yeah the guy desperately needs work. Who was he in SS again? lol

    • Napi

Needs work? Apart of Suicide Squad he is appearing on 2 more movies in this year and 2 more movies in 2017. Get some information and then construct some criteria out of yourself, hahahah

He’s a nobody outside of his father’s namesake.

        • SAMURAI36

It’s sad that you constantly put your foot in your mouth. First he “needs work”, & when that statement failed, now he’s a “nobody”. Which is it?

          From Wiki:

Eastwood began his career by using his mother’s last name to avoid nepotism, although there is another actor named Scott Reeves. “I’ve auditioned for pretty much every one of my father’s movies”, he said in 2015, noting he was rejected for the Clint Eastwood-directed American Sniper.[9] He briefly appeared in his father’s 2008 film Gran Torino, and played Joel Stransky in Invictus.”

So, he’s been building his career outside of his Father’s name this entire time.

Plus For a guy that “needs work”, he’s been in 22 films since 2004, & averages 2-3 films a year. Plus, he’s currently filming for Fast & Furious 8.

How’s that for a “nobody who needs work”?

          • Carl

He got nowhere under his mother’s name. He’s had mostly small roles and is not recognized for any significant role. Hence he is a nobody getting by on his father’s name.

I’ll correct one thing I said. He desperately needs good work. His role in SS was not that but of course he died in that so maybe he wants a better role in SS2.

Man, they are killing this book in the comments. Especially the retailers.

Article seems positive. I didn’t bother with the comments. Thanks for the daily dose of your foolish endeavor to bash Marvel for no reason.

Leave it to Carlene to say something dumb.

He should have been in “WESTWORLD” or “MAGNIFICENT SEVEN”…just off the strength of his pop.

“You either love it or you hate it.” ?

I, for one, as someone who loved MoS and really liked BvS…

Just kinda liked Suicide Squad for the nice acting and fun characters. I’m definitely not on one end of spectrum or another. And a lot of other people feel the same way, this time, %100 hate or %100 love crowds are smaller than the average “it was fine-ish” or “it was a sort of bad movie” people.
