Sebastian Stan posted an Instagram Story that has some fans thinking he’s throwing shade at Captain America and Bucky’s ending in Avengers: Endgame.

Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame concluded with Steve Rogers, now an old man after traveling to the past and living out his life Peggy Carter, passing on the Captain America title to Sam Wilson. The decision was disappointing to fans who felt little to no closure to the storyline between Captain America and Bucky Barnes, especially for those who already felt Sebastian Stan’s character had been underused in the Avengers films.

Now, Sebastian Stan has posted a screencap on his Instagram Stories feed that features a Twitter user’s post criticizing the inconsistent writing of the Marvel films, particularly when it comes to Captain America’s relationship with Bucky. The post has some fans wondering if Sebastian Stan is throwing shade at Captain America and Bucky’s ending in Avengers: Endgame while others believe the emoji used indicates he is simply taken back by the fan’s post.
