Shane West’s Bane Returns With A Vengeance In New ‘Gotham’ Red Band Trailer

Fox is all in on Gotham‘s fifth and final, going so far as to introduce Shane West as Bane in the show’s latest and perhaps greatest trailer yet.

Shane West’s Bane, known in earlier episodes of the season simply as Eduardo, has taken a bit of a hiatus since his horrible injury at the hands of Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie). Now, the latest trailer for the series’ final season introduces Shane West as the Bane fans know and love.

The trailer, posted to official YouTube page of Gotham, is titled “Bane Red Band Trailer,” and it opens with a red slide resembling the red card at the front of more mature movie trailers; however, this slide reads:

“The Following PREVIEW Has Been Approved For THE BANE OF THE UNJUST AND CORRUPT ONLY By The Fox Broadcasting Company.”

Check out the incredibly exciting trailer below:

In the trailer, fans are introduced to Shane West as Eduardo Dorrance, who formerly served in the United States Army alongside Jim Gordon and is currently on a mission to save Gotham City by destroying it.

Ultimately, Shane West is revealed as Gotham‘s version of Bane, a brooding badass with a buff mechanical suit that bestows Dorrance with superior strength while simultaneously keeping him alive.

Flames raging as far as the eye can see, ravaging skyscrapers like trees while bullet-riddled lawlessness reigns supreme throughout the city. The trailer is reminiscent of the popular No Man’s Land arc in the Batman comics mixed in with some of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. And, of course, who could forget Barbara, who gets to wield awesome dual pistols while going into labor. It is a bonkers trailer that should excite any self-proclaimed comic book sweaty.
