Brand-new pictures from a Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings set in Sydney have surfaced as production prepares to restart.
Like every project in entertainment, Shang-Chi filming has been put on hold since March. This also resulted in Marvel Studios moving the film back from February 2021 to May 2021. Shang-Chi hadn’t been filming for too long up to that point, but we have still seen set photos of Simu Liu and Awkwafina.
Some productions are looking to restart filming soon and it appears Shang-Chi could be one of them based on new set pictures. On Reddit, user Strangeboganman shared an image of a set being built at Project Reservoir in Sydney.
EepOppOopOpp then posted a before and after image showing that the Shang-Chi set appears to be some kind of village. You can see the comparison below.

Introduced in Special Marvel Edition #15 in December 1973, Shang-Chi is a skilled martial artist who was raised in an isolated compound located in China and trained by his father Fu Manchu, a Chinese crimelord and immortal sorcerer who repeatedly attempted to conquer the world. When Shang-Chi was finally allowed to venture into the outside world to do his father’s bidding, he learned about his father’s evil ways and faked his own death before embarking on a mission to take down Fu Manchu’s criminal empire.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a script written by David Callaham, Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings stars Simu Liu, Awkwafina, Tony Leung, and Ronny Chieng.
