Shared Link Between ‘Logan’ & ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Revealed

Logan

Logan has been receiving incredible word of mouth following early press screenings. But besides the heavy excitement from audiences ready to see Hugh Jackman’s last stab at Wolverine on the big screen, many fans have been wondering how James Mangold’s film connects to the X-Men universe.

Interestingly enough, there is a fascinating connection between Logan and last year’s X-Men: Apocalypse. In a post-credits scene for the latter film, we see a someone walk through the hallway following the aftermath of Wolverine’s unleashed attacks at Weapon X. We then see someone open a cabinet the removes a vile of blood and places it into an ESSEX CORP. briefcase.

Although it was speculated that this scene hinted at an appearance by Mister Sinister, that was not the case. In fact, producer Simon Kinberg confirms to CinemaBlend that Apocalypse’s post-credits scene explains how the antagonists of Logan got their hands on the blood and DNA to jumpstart a new Weapon X program – which also leads to the creation of Dafne Keen’s X-23.

Yes, that is the implication.

What do you guys think of this connection between Logan and X-Men: Apocalypse? Are you excited to see Jackman’s final ride as Wolverine after nearly 17 years of portraying the iconic character? Sound off in the comments below.

In the near future, a weary Logan (Hugh Jackman) cares for an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart) at a remote outpost on the Mexican border. His attempt to hide from the outside world gets upended when X introduces him to a young mutant named Laura (Dafne Keen). Logan must now protect the girl and battle the dark forces that want to capture her.
