Well, that didn’t take long. That recent Shazam! image of Billy Batson staring down Mark Strong’s Doctor Sivana was practically begging for an insert of Black Adam to recreate the “Distracted Boyfriend” meme. And now everyone’s favorite BossLogic has done just that.
A few days ago, BossLogic shared a photo on his Instagram page of the recent Shazam! image, but this time, you’ve got Billy Batson eyeing a mock-up of Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, while Doctor Sivana wonders why his enemy has found a new love of his life. Accompanying this mock-up is the caption “#Shazam 2 – Jealous ex big bad @zacharylevi @shazammovie @therock.” Here, have a look at the Shazam! fan art recreating the distracted boyfriend meme in the image below.
There’s no telling just yet when we’ll see Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam square up against Billy Batson, though. There’s no indication that he will appear or be referenced in the upcoming Shazam! film, so while we await any and all updates on the Black Adam character in the DC Extended Universe, we at least have this fan art. And hey, who is to say that this couldn’t work as a possible plot for a Shazam! sequel? Just don’t ask Sivana, though. Let us know your thoughts on this fan art in the comments below and stay tuned for more Shazam! updates.
Here’s the film’s official synopsis:
We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).
Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Asher Angel, Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Faithe Herman, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans and Djimon Hounsou.
The film will hit theaters next year on April 5, 2019.
