Here’s When You Should Expect A New ‘Shazam!’ Trailer

Justice League Shazam Zachary Levi DC

Shazam! producer Peter Safran revealed at a recent Q&A when DC fans can expect the long-awaited trailer.

The first Shazam! footage was revealed at San Diego Comic Con back in July, but no full trailer has been released since. Various TV spots and behind the scenes footage have offered a glimpse at the next DC film, but fans are eager for full trailer as the April release date approaches. Zachary Levi said the new trailer would be released in new year when fans expected one attracted to Aquaman in December. During a recent Q&A, Shazam! producer Peter Safran teased a new trailer is on the way very soon:

“You saw we had the new TV spot, obviously, the AFC/NFC game. And a lot more TV spots are coming, obviously, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there [were] some more long-form materials coming soon. But, without promising a date… imminent.”

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Directed by David F. Sandberg, the film stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Ron Cephas.

Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.
