Shazam! is set to hit theaters this Spring, only a few weeks before Avengers: Endgame arrives in theaters. Despite the fact that the superhero origin story has been done so many times over the last decade alone, Shazam! looks to put a new twist on the classic origin story of Billy Batson, originally known as “Captain Marvel”, which fans may notice is also the name of a certain Marvel universe hero getting her own solo movie this March.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Shazam! as soon as more information becomes available. Would you like to see Zeus make an appearance in the film? How would you like to see an interaction with Billy Batson and Zeus go down on the big screen? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Mark Strong, Jack Dylan Grazer, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Djimon Honsou.

We all have a superhero inside us, it just takes a bit of magic to bring it out. In Billy Batson’s (Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard. Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Strong).

Shazam! will be released in theaters on April 5, 2019.
