She-Hulk director Kat Coiro recently talked about the tone of the upcoming Marvel series and if there will be more than one season.
She-Hulk is one of the many Marvel shows hitting Disney Plus later this year, and fans got their first look at the series back in November. Director Kat Corio is currently out promoting Marry Me but spoke to TheWrap about her vision for She-Hulk:
“I never choose a project based on genre. And I actually don’t think very much about genre, I think about character. And I think about the emotional lives of the characters and, you know, can I bring something? Can I bring a mix of humor and heart to this? Because that is what I love to watch. And it’s what I love to work with. And so when I stepped into, you know, the Marvel playground — the cool thing about Marvel is that it is an ever-evolving universe and you have straight dramas, and you have very comedic films, and we are in that world where we’re definitely playing with a more comedic world, but it also is still part of Marvel land.”
So far, Loki is the only Marvel series getting a second season, and Corio had this to say about the future of She-Hulk:
“I will let Kevin Feige answer that question. For now, we have done a season and it’s coming out sometime this year. And we’ll go from there.”
Marvel Studios hasn’t shared too many She-Hulk details yet, but Kevin Feige described She-Hulk as a “half-hour legal comedy.” Kate Gao served as the head writer on the Disney Plus series, with Kat Cario and Anu Valia directing the ten-episode season.
She-Hulk stars Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner, Jameela Jamil as Titania, and Tim Roth as the Abomination.
She-Hulk will debut on Disney Plus in 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on Marvel’s upcoming Disney Plus original series, and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content!
