Iko Uwais, star of Gareth Evans’ Indonesian action films The Raid: Redemption and The Raid 2 is in talks to join the cast of Paramount Pictures’ upcoming Snake Eyes movie starring Henry Golding.

THR reports that Iko Uwais will play the character Hard Master, a “tough as nails” teacher that trains Henry Golding’s Snake Eyes while also being a master swordsman in his own right. Along with Henry Golding in the lead, Iko Uwais joins Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow.

Notable for his lead performance in the two Raid movies with Gareth Evans, Iko Uwais has had roles in American releases, including a bit role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Mile 22 and most recently as a villain in the comedy Stuber. Iko Uwais also stars in Netflix’s new series, Wu Assassins.

Given his prominent experience in action films not only as an actor, but also a stuntman, fight choreographer and martial artist, seeing Iko Uwais joining the cast of Snake Eyes is certainly a no-brainer. The fact that he will be an accomplished swordsman training Henry Golding’s lead character will certainly showcase some exciting fight choreography that he will likely implement into the production.
