Paramount Pictures’ Sonic The Hedgehog trailer reveals the first footage of Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik with his iconic look.
Today, Paramount Pictures released the first trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog and the preview offered audiences their first official glimpse at Jim Carrey as the classic video game villain Dr. Robotnik. While Jim Carrey’s Dr. Robotnik somewhat resembled the video game version of the villain through most of the trailer, the preview concluded with a brief shot of the classic Sonic foe with his iconic moustache, goggles, and red coat.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster video game franchise from Sega that centres on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination.
Directed by Jeff Fowler from a script written by Patrick Casey, Josh Miller, and Oren Uziel, Sonic the Hedgehog features the voice talent of Ben Schwartz as the titular character and stars James Marsden as sheriff Tom Wachowski, Jim Carrey as Dr. Ivo Robotnik, Neal McDonough as US Army Major Bennington, Tika Sumpter as Mrs. Wachowski, Lee Majdoub as Stone, and Frank C. Turner as Crazy Carl. Adam Pally, Natasha Rothwell, Debs Howard, and Elfina Luk also star in undisclosed roles.
Sonic the Hedgehog will be released in theaters on November 8, 2019.

‘The Lion King’ Photos Offer New Look At Chiwetel Ejiofor’s Scar
Entertainment Weekly has unveiled new photos from Disney's The Lion King remake that offer another look at several characters, including Chiwetel Ejiofor's Scar.
Disney's line-up of live-action remakes continues with 2019's The Lion King and now a new set of photos offers fans another look at the photo-realistic versions of several beloved characters from the animated classic. In addition to a new photo of Chiwetel Ejiofor's Scar, the villainous brother of King Mufasa and uncle of future king Simba, the latest collection of images reveal new looks at Rafiki, a classic scene in which Mufasa teaches his son about the kingdom, Timon and Pumba with an adult Simba, young Simba and Nala being lectured by Zazu, and the famous Pride Rock.
Fans can also see a behind-the-scenes look at Donald Glover recording dialogue with the guidance of director Jon Favreau.

Director Jon Favreau’s all-new “The Lion King” journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own.
