With the film opening this weekend, the official CinemaScore for Sonic the Hedgehog has been revealed.
Despite the controversy with Sonic‘s design prior to release, Sonic the Hedgehog is receiving positive reviews from critics. Sonic the Hedgehog is currently sitting at a 63% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is great given the history of video game movie adaptations in the past.
Sonic the Hedgehog is also on pace for an impressive $60M opening weekend. Another huge indicator of a film’s success also lies with its CinemaScore. It was revealed on Saturday that Sonic the Hedgehog has earned an “A” CinemaScore from audiences.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster video game franchise from Sega that centres on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination.
